HMD has officially launched the Crest 5G smartphone in Nepal through Teletalk Pvt. Ltd., introducing a device that blends impressive specifications with an affordable price tag. The phone features 12 GB of RAM (with virtual RAM), a 50 MP selfie camera, and a rich display, making it a strong contender in the budget segment.
HMD, once known for selling Nokia phones, is now venturing into selling its own smartphones. The Crest 5G marks a significant step for the young brand as it aims to capture the attention of Nepalese consumers. With its balance of specifications, it competes well in the affordable segment, joining other phones priced under 30,000 in Nepal.
Ravi Kunwar, VP of India & APAC at HMD, highlighted the significance of this launch, stating, “With the launch of HMD Crest, we’re not just introducing our first smartphone, but also ushering in a new era of mobile technology that prioritizes creativity, sustainability, and user experience. The HMD Crest is designed for the Gen Z audience, who values high value, contemporary design, and sustainability.”
Kunwar also emphasized that HMD remains committed to innovation, with devices that cater to the evolving needs of global consumers while contributing to sustainability and connectivity. The Crest 5G is expected to be a major player in Nepal’s smartphone market, appealing to those seeking cutting-edge technology at an affordable price.
