Jordan’s mobile phone imports reached approximately JD15.1 million in January 2024, with a total of 155,000 devices entering the market. This marks a significant increase in imports compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Association of Mobiles and Accessories Investors (Vision).
In January 2024, the value of imports stood at JD10.8 million for 148,000 devices, reflecting notable growth in both the value and volume of mobile phone imports. Ahmad Alloush, head of Vision, stated that one mobile brand alone imported devices worth around JD8 million at the beginning of the year, indicating ongoing growth in the local market.
In total, Jordan’s mobile phone imports for 2024 amounted to JD176 million, with 1.855 million devices. This represents a 13.7% increase in the value of imports compared to 2023, which saw JD154.6 million in imports. Additionally, the number of devices imported rose by 7.5%, from 1.726 million units in 2023 to 1.855 million in 2024.
