Dubai RTA Partners with e& to Launch Free Wi-Fi Service Across Public Transport Stations

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully rolled out free Wi-Fi at 17 public bus stations and 12 marine transport stations in collaboration with e& (Etisalat), as part of an initiative aimed at enhancing the commuter experience.

The Wi-Fi service allows commuters to stay connected via smartphones, tablets, and laptops while traveling on public transport. Khaled AbdulRahman Al Awadhi, Director of Transportation Systems at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, explained that the installation of Wi-Fi devices across 29 stations has been completed, with plans to extend the service to all 43 RTA stations, including 21 bus and 22 marine transport stations, by Q2 2025.

This initiative is part of RTA’s broader strategy to accelerate digital transformation across its services, in line with the UAE’s vision for innovation. It also contributes to Dubai’s goal of becoming the world’s smartest and happiest city. Al Awadhi emphasized that the Wi-Fi service will be continuously evaluated and improved in collaboration with e& to ensure optimal connectivity for passengers using buses and marine transport across the emirate.
