Bahrain and Qatar Strengthen Transport and Logistics Cooperation

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met with Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Transport, to enhance bilateral ties in transport, logistics, and infrastructure development. Both ministers emphasized their commitment to expanding cooperation in land, sea, and air transport under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During their discussions, they explored opportunities for collaboration in transport infrastructure, logistics, and investment, as well as technical exchanges. They also reviewed efforts for economic integration within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to foster regional growth.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah reaffirmed Qatar’s dedication to strengthening ties with Bahrain in key sectors such as transport, logistics, ports, and civil aviation. Both sides agreed that these sectors are crucial for sustainable development and economic integration within the GCC.

As part of the visit, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed and his delegation toured several Qatari transport and logistics hubs, including Hamad Port, Mowasalat (Karwa), and Qatar Rail, to assess developments in land transport, railways, and maritime navigation.
