Kuwait Achieves Key Sustainable Development Goals, Aligning with Vision 2035

Kuwait has made remarkable strides in achieving several Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators, with 100% completion rates in areas such as medical personnel attendance at births, access to essential services, and safely managed drinking water and electricity. The nation has also fully implemented disaster risk reduction strategies and achieved a 100% hazardous waste treatment rate.

The progress aligns with Kuwait Vision 2035, which seeks to establish Kuwait as a leading global financial and investment hub. The vision focuses on creating a private-sector-driven economy, human development, competitiveness, and efficient production. Kuwait’s national development plan includes 164 projects and 30 strategic initiatives to support infrastructure, public health, and private sector growth.

Kuwait also leads globally in ICT development and 5G technology, ranking third in the 2024 Tax Policy Index and 11th in the 2024 Public Finance Index. The country is advancing sustainability with large projects like the Shagaya Renewable Energy Complex and sustainable health cities, and it is expanding its infrastructure with projects like the Doha Seawater Desalination Plant and Al-Wafra Power Plant.

Kuwait remains committed to sustainable development as an essential driver for long-term prosperity and future growth, with a focus on improving the nation’s infrastructure, economy, and quality of life for future generations.
