Oman Launches Tajawob Platform to Strengthen Government-Citizen Engagement

The launch of Tajawob, a national platform for suggestions, complaints, and reports, marks a significant step forward in enhancing community engagement and improving government services in Oman. Unveiled at the ‘Together We Progress’ forum, the platform integrates over 55 government institutions, streamlining the process for citizens to submit feedback.

Dr. Amal Talib al Jahouri, Director of Media Department at Majlis A’Shura, highlighted the platform’s importance in fostering greater community participation and improving government efficiency and transparency. The initiative is aligned with Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to enhance government operations and increase citizen engagement.

Tajawob’s design prioritizes user accessibility, ensuring that all citizens, including those with disabilities, can navigate the platform easily. Features like keyboard navigation, visual aids for the hearing impaired, and an intuitive interface make it accessible to everyone. Additionally, the platform utilizes advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to quickly process requests and flag urgent matters for prompt resolution.

Mubarak bin Khamis al Hamdani, a social researcher and policy specialist, noted that Tajawob represents a significant shift towards a more interactive and efficient government. By consolidating public feedback into a single system, the platform creates a streamlined, transparent process that encourages active citizen participation.

The platform, available in both Arabic and English, can be accessed through the website Tajawob.om, with a mobile app planned for future release. It also allows users to track the status of their submissions and receive real-time updates, increasing transparency and building public trust in government services.

Rashid bin Abdullah al Shaidhani, a researcher, emphasized that Tajawob would enhance electronic communication between the government and citizens, improving response times and transparency. As more people engage with the platform, it is expected to contribute to Oman’s broader goals for innovation, social progress, and a more efficient government.
