Kuwait’s technology and communications authorities have signed a strategic partnership with Microsoft to accelerate the country’s digital transformation. The agreement, signed by the Central Agency for Information Technology and the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority, aims to position Kuwait as a leading hub for artificial intelligence (AI) in line with its Vision 2035 goals.
Omar Al-Omar, Minister of State for Communications Affairs, described the partnership as a key step toward leveraging AI technologies to support Kuwait’s economic diversification efforts. The initiative focuses on enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship, preparing the workforce for leadership roles in emerging technologies, and building a robust cybersecurity platform to protect the nation’s digital infrastructure.
Microsoft will launch a program to enhance digital skills in Kuwait’s workforce, concentrating on areas such as AI, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies. The collaboration will also focus on improving Kuwait’s cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity within the public sector, contributing to the country’s economic sustainability.
Samer Abu-Ltaif, President of Microsoft for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, emphasized that the partnership would bolster Kuwait’s digital infrastructure. As part of the initiative, the government will implement Microsoft 365 Copilot solutions to improve efficiency and productivity within government agencies. Furthermore, the government is planning the launch of a Copilot Solutions Center of Excellence and new data centers to meet the growing demand for high-performance computing and Microsoft services within the private sector.
