ORA Technologies Raises $4.4 Million to Expand Digital Financial Services in Morocco

ORA Technologies, a Moroccan startup founded in 2023 by Omar Alami, has raised a total of $4.4 million to accelerate the growth of its digital services. With backing from Witamax and Azur Innovation Fund, ORA Technologies plans to expand its financial services platform, ORA Cash, and its e-commerce and service marketplace, KooulMaroc.

The company has developed a mobile app combining peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions, e-commerce, on-demand services, social networking, and a digital wallet, all in one platform. ORA Technologies aims to improve digital transactions and financial accessibility for Moroccan consumers, unifying multiple services into a single, user-friendly solution.

The newly secured funding will focus on expanding the market reach of KooulMaroc, ORA Technologies’ food delivery service, and scaling ORA Cash, a mobile wallet that enables users to make instant money transfers, process digital payments via QR codes, and manage financial transactions in five languages, including Darija, Morocco’s local dialect.

Since its launch, ORA Technologies has surpassed 300,000 downloads, reflecting strong demand for integrated financial and digital services in Morocco. The platform helps underbanked communities access digital financial services, such as utility bill payments, phone top-ups, and cash withdrawals at over 5,000 partner agencies nationwide. The startup’s success is seen as a significant step toward Morocco’s digital and financial inclusion initiatives.
