The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority has introduced electronic passport gates at key airports across the Kingdom as part of its ongoing efforts to drive digital transformation in various sectors. In collaboration with the General Directorate of Passports and aviation-management company Matarat Holding, the authority has installed 152 automated e-gates at major airports, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
These e-gates aim to streamline the entry process into the Kingdom, significantly accelerating border-control procedures. The gates are integrated with multiple digital systems that manage border control processes, including visas, biometrics, and airline operations, further enhancing efficiency and convenience for travelers.
