Telenor Pakistan has made a significant contribution to the country’s economy, investing over $5 billion and contributing more than Rs500 billion in direct and indirect taxes over the past two decades. The mobile operator continues to serve a strong customer base of 44 million, striving to reduce inequalities and foster a digital Pakistan.
Recognizing the growing need for seamless connectivity in northern Pakistan, Telenor has made substantial investments in infrastructure. Recently, the company launched 4G services in Hunza and upgraded its networks in Gilgit and Skardu, boosting tourism and creating new opportunities for e-commerce.
Beyond connectivity, Telenor Pakistan remains at the forefront of technological innovation. In partnership with a Chinese collaborator, the company achieved a national record data transmission speed of 1.9 Gbps over a distance of 11.6 kilometres. It also conducted Pakistan’s fastest cellular 5G trial, further demonstrating its commitment to expanding high-speed internet access and enhancing the digital ecosystem.
