The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Dhofar branch organized a Ramadan evening in Salalah to explore the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity on business futures. The event, titled ‘The Future of Business in Light of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity: Opportunities and Challenges,’ was held under the patronage of H.H. Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
Ghazi bin Said al Hamar, the director of the Dhofar branch, highlighted the session as a platform to discuss AI’s potential, the challenges businesses face amid digital transformation, and the critical role of cybersecurity in safeguarding data and digital infrastructure.
The discussions focused on AI applications in economic and development sectors, aimed at enhancing business efficiency, improving quality of life, and driving sustainable digital transformation in Oman. Topics covered included AI programs, advanced technologies, the digital economy, AI agents’ role in the future of work, and AI regulations. Additionally, the event featured a presentation on the experience of a cybersecurity startup, contributing to the broader conversation on digital security.
