EDGE, a leading advanced technology group, has announced that one of its key divisions, EDGE LIF, has entered into a strategic partnership with QuantaSim, a renowned consulting and training firm, to create an innovative engineering bootcamp aimed at empowering local talent.
EDGE LIF, a critical hub dedicated to providing advanced upskilling and technology-driven solutions, plays a vital role in enhancing manufacturing excellence and fostering innovation in the defence and industrial sectors.
The collaboration seeks to strengthen local engineering capabilities and drive innovation in the defence and aerospace industries. The newly launched Engineering Bootcamp is specifically designed to develop the next generation of engineers, equipping them with the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and innovative mindset required to excel in aerospace and defence sectors.
This comprehensive nine-month program is targeted at early-career engineers and takes an interdisciplinary approach to learning. Focused on the V-Cycle model for product development, the bootcamp offers participants hands-on training in mechanical, electrical, aerodynamics, and control systems. Through the use of advanced tools like Engineering Simulation, participants will have the opportunity to develop practical prototypes and gain real-world experience by working on industry-relevant projects. The program places a strong emphasis on innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration, ensuring that engineers are equipped to address the complex challenges faced by the aerospace and defence industries.
Ignacio Gatell, Vice President of EDGE LIF, stated, “Our primary goal is to drive operational excellence across all of EDGE’s entities, supporting innovators and experts in capability development that enhances operations and processes within the organisation.”
He added, “Through our partnership with QuantaSim, we can deliver world-class programmes that will expand the proficiencies of EDGE engineers, combining cutting-edge technology with a systems approach to engineering.”
Abbass Karim, CEO of QuantaSim, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, saying, “We are thrilled to join forces with EDGE LIF in this innovative bootcamp initiative, which underscores QuantaSim’s commitment to advancing engineering talent in the region.”
Karim further noted, “This program is a significant step toward strengthening the workforce in aerospace and defence while fostering a culture of innovation. By equipping local engineers with the necessary tools, knowledge, and hands-on experience, we are not only empowering individuals but also contributing to the growth of the industry and advancing digital transformation.”
This partnership marks a key milestone in enhancing regional engineering capabilities, particularly in the areas of digital thread, artificial intelligence (AI), and product lifecycle management, while nurturing the next generation of talent for the aerospace and defence sectors.
