The Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jordanian Association for Entrepreneurship (JAE) on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening cooperation, particularly in economic relations, and benefiting the Jordanian business community.
The MoU focuses on enhancing joint efforts to organize conferences and forums that will advance the economic relations between the two associations and strengthen communication within the Jordanian business community. It also encourages the exchange of expertise and information on development opportunities across various economic sectors in Jordan, with the aim of establishing strategic partnerships that benefit the Kingdom’s business environment.
Tariq Hijazi, JBA Director General, emphasized the importance of strengthening relationships with civil society institutions within Jordan’s private sector. He noted that JBA is committed to networking with various economic actors to serve the national economic interests, particularly emerging entrepreneurship among Jordanian youth.
Hijazi highlighted the significance of promoting local entrepreneurship, which is a vital component of the comprehensive reform process aligned with the Economic Modernization Vision. He praised the role of entrepreneurship in unlocking promising economic opportunities and called for the development of entrepreneurial and development projects, especially in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The goal is to enhance infrastructure, provide job opportunities for youth, and increase the competitiveness of economic sectors.
Dr. Laith Qhaiwi, Head of JAE, described the joint cooperation as a strategic step to improve Jordan’s entrepreneurship and innovation environment. He added that the partnership would help integrate entrepreneurial expertise and investment support, in line with Royal directives, and further enhance the private sector’s role in the Jordanian business ecosystem.
Qhaiwi stressed the importance of empowering youth, especially in emerging and medium-sized enterprises, to promote economic growth, encourage innovation, and enhance the economic impact of youth-driven products and marketing.
