Luxor Chamber Signs Telecom Cooperation Deal with Chinese Association

Luxor’s Chamber of Commerce has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the China Communications Operators Association to enhance cooperation in telecommunications and technology development.

The agreement was signed during a workshop attended by Luxor Deputy Governor Hisham Abu Zeid and Chamber of Commerce Chairman Yehia Mohamed, with the aim of strengthening economic ties and encouraging investment collaboration between Egypt and China.

According to a statement from the Luxor governorate, the partnership will focus on knowledge exchange, technical cooperation, and capacity development in communications and modern technology sectors.

The agreement also includes plans to organize workshops, training programmes and knowledge-sharing initiatives related to telecommunications technologies and digital transformation. These activities are intended to support the development of local companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Deputy Governor Hisham Abu Zeid noted that the cooperation aligns with Egypt’s broader digital transformation agenda and will help facilitate the transfer of modern communication technologies to local markets.

He added that such initiatives could open new opportunities for economic growth and technological development in Luxor and across Upper Egypt, while strengthening international partnerships in the telecommunications and technology sectors.
