On March 25, Morocco launched the “DigiSchool 2025” program, building on the success of a 2024 pilot to integrate digital technologies into the country’s education system. The initiative, in collaboration with Huawei Morocco, aims to further enhance the digital skills of both teachers and students across the nation.
Minister of National Education, Mohamed Saad Berrada, highlighted the program’s goals to foster innovation, broaden students’ openness to modern technologies, and improve the quality of public education. He emphasized that the initiative is essential for building a resilient and connected future for Morocco, where quality education is accessible to all.
The DigiSchool 2025 program will train 1,800 teachers in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and augmented reality. In addition, 36,000 students will participate in DigiSchool clubs at 248 schools across Morocco’s 12 regions. These clubs will introduce students to future technologies and transversal skills, promoting creativity and innovation among the younger generation.
This initiative aligns with Morocco’s 2022–2026 education modernization roadmap, aimed at preparing both students and teachers for success in a digital environment. By leveraging public-private partnerships, DigiSchool 2025 represents a significant step towards creating an inclusive and innovative education system.
Furthermore, the program is in line with Morocco’s national strategy, “Morocco Digital 2030,” which seeks to position the country as a leading technology hub in Africa. Key objectives include training 100,000 young people annually in digital professions and creating 240,000 jobs within the digital sector by 2030. DigiSchool 2025 addresses the rising demand for digital skills and contributes to the development of a qualified workforce ready to tackle the challenges of the digital age.
