Suez Canal Economic Zone Launches Digital One-Stop-Shop Services for Investors

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has unveiled a digital one-stop-shop platform for its investors, developed in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation. This initiative aims to improve business efficiency, transparency, and governance, reinforcing the SCZone’s position as a key global logistics hub and investment destination.

The launch event, held at the SCZone headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, was attended by officials from the SCZone, the Ministry of International Cooperation, and the EBRD. The new digital services initiative will digitize and streamline 80 key services over the next two years, providing current and prospective investors with a more seamless experience, faster processing times, and an improved user experience.

As part of the broader digital transformation strategy, the SCZone’s new electronic platform includes several important features. It integrates a centralised Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track projects in real-time and support future investment opportunities. A Smart Operations Management system automates service applications, which are monitored by key performance indicators. Additionally, a secure Document Management System (DMS) ensures efficient processing, storage, and retrieval of investment-related documents.

The platform also incorporates Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools, providing customized dashboards to aid data-driven decision-making. Investors can access the platform through an Investor Portal, which offers a modern workspace for direct communication with SCZone support teams, proposal submission, request tracking, and around-the-clock access to resources. Enhanced functionality is provided by an Integration Gateway, enabling smooth integration with internal and external databases and offering secure online payment options.

Walied Gamal El-Din, Chairperson of SCZone, highlighted the platform’s role in the Zone’s digital transformation strategy, stating, “This new integrated investor services platform provides innovative digital solutions that simplify administrative, service, and financial processes, automate procedures, manage documents, and include an electronic portal for investors.”

Gamal El-Din also referenced the SCZone’s recently inaugurated logistics centre, which automates customs and logistics procedures. He emphasized that the platform integrates with the Industrial Networking platform (E-Tabadul), helping manufacturers both within and outside the SCZone to promote industrial localization and supply chain integration.

Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and Minister of International Cooperation, also addressed the event, noting, “The launch of digital one-stop-shop services is a crucial step in solidifying the Zone’s position as a premier global logistics and investment hub. This initiative will enhance service efficiency and boost Egypt’s investment competitiveness.”
