Nokia Partners with Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition to Accelerate Digital Morocco 2030

Nokia and the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform of Morocco have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at GITEX Africa 2025 in Morocco. The agreement highlights their joint commitment to advancing the Digital Morocco 2030 plan and accelerating the country’s digital transformation.

The MoU was signed by Mrs. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, and Pierre Chaume, Vice President of North, West and Central Africa for Network Infrastructure at Nokia. The partnership is aligned with Morocco’s goals to enhance its digital ecosystem, especially as the country prepares to host major sports events in 2025 and 2030. Nokia will leverage its telecommunications expertise to improve connectivity and digital experiences for event participants.

The newly inaugurated Nokia Innovation Center, part of the agreement, will focus on talent training, research, and developing solutions tailored to Morocco’s digital landscape. The center will also support the Ministry’s Al Jazari initiative, promoting local innovation and technological excellence.

As part of its support for Digital Morocco 2030, Nokia will provide consultancy to enhance national internet coverage and create an inclusive digital environment. This includes deploying 5G technology, expanding fiber optic networks, and contributing to national initiatives like the National High Debit Plan. Nokia will also help develop digital skills in Moroccan youth through internationally recognized certification programs.

This MoU builds on previous collaborations, including the opening of the Nokia Innovation Center in October 2023 and the Minister’s visit to Nokia’s headquarters in Finland in January 2024. Nokia also proposes the creation of a National Digital Fabric (NDF), leveraging its Network as Code (NaC) platform to offer a national telecommunications gateway, accessible through APIs for enterprises, startups, and universities, driving economic growth and technological innovation.

Pierre Chaume, Vice President of Nokia, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “Through knowledge sharing, talent development, and cutting-edge technology, we look forward to supporting Morocco’s digital evolution and contributing to its economic growth.” Mrs. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni emphasized that the collaboration with Nokia would accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation, improve connectivity, and foster an innovation-driven economy.
