Oracle made a strong statement at GITEX Africa 2025, emphasizing its commitment to the continent’s digital future. “This is our third year at GITEX, and we’re thrilled to be back,” said Alessio Bagnaresi, Vice President of AI Technology at Oracle. He highlighted the company’s significant presence in both Africa and the UAE, providing a platform to connect government institutions, private sector players, and startups.
Oracle is investing heavily in its cloud business across the region, with new data centers planned for Morocco and Kenya, following the successful launch of a center in South Africa. Bagnaresi emphasized the importance of being at the forefront as African countries continue to develop their digital infrastructure. “For us, it’s crucial to be in the front seat,” he stated in an interview with Morocco World News.
Oracle’s cloud approach is also becoming more localized. The company enables telecoms and tech providers to host Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) themselves, offering it as a service. This allows businesses to keep data closer to home, simplifying deployment and improving regional accessibility.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is another core focus for Oracle. “We take a very holistic approach to AI,” Bagnaresi explained. Oracle aims to democratize AI adoption by offering business leaders, data scientists, and engineers an intuitive and accessible platform that aligns with their preferences and needs.
