The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has unveiled digital one-stop-shop services for investors, developed in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation. This initiative aims to improve business efficiency, transparency, and governance within the zone, reinforcing its position as a global logistics hub and key investment destination.
The new services were officially launched during a ceremony at the SCZone headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, attended by officials from the SCZone, the Ministry of International Cooperation, and the EBRD. As part of the project, SCZone plans to digitize and streamline 80 key services over the next two years, providing investors with faster interactions, reduced processing times, and a more user-friendly experience.
This initiative aligns with SCZone’s broader goal of digital transformation and supporting a sustainable economy. The newly introduced electronic services platform includes several key features: a centralised Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for real-time project tracking, a Smart Operations Management system for automating service applications, and a secure Document Management System (DMS) for handling investment-related documents efficiently. Additionally, Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools offer customised dashboards to support data-driven decisions.
Investors will access these services through an Investor Portal, enabling direct interaction with SCZone support teams, proposal submissions, request tracking, and around-the-clock access to resources. The platform’s functionality is enhanced by an Integration Gateway, allowing seamless integration with internal and external databases, along with secure online payment channels.
Walied Gamal El-Din, Chairperson of SCZone, emphasized the importance of the new platform, stating, “The Suez Canal Economic Zone is advancing a comprehensive digital transformation strategy to enhance our global competitiveness. This integrated investor services platform offers innovative solutions that simplify administrative, service, and financial processes, automate procedures, and manage documents.”
He also highlighted the recent opening of the SCZone’s logistics center, which automates customs and logistics procedures. This integration with the Industrial Networking platform (E-Tabadul) connects manufacturers within and outside the SCZone, supporting industrial localization and supply chain integration.
Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and Minister of International Cooperation, praised the initiative, affirming, “The launch of these digital one-stop-shop services is a significant step towards strengthening the Suez Canal Economic Zone’s position as a global logistics and investment hub. This initiative improves service efficiency and enhances Egypt’s investment climate.”
This digital transformation is in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, aiming to boost the country’s competitiveness and foster a more business-friendly environment.
