Bahrain Ministry Urges Businesses to Comply with New E-Payment Resolution by June 13

Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce has urged all commercial establishments in the kingdom to take the necessary steps to comply with Resolution No. (43) of 2024, which mandates businesses to open commercial accounts with licensed banks and provide reliable e-payment methods before the June 13 deadline.

The resolution requires both new and existing businesses to adopt electronic payment systems, including point of sale (POS) devices, electronic payment gateways, or other secure methods. Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro emphasized that Bahrain is entering a new phase of financial and commercial development, urging businesses to modernize their operations with efficient and secure payment systems.

“The resolution is not just a legal requirement, but a step toward improving financial processes and enhancing transparency,” Minister Fakhro stated. He encouraged businesses to start the transition promptly to align with the more secure and advanced financial system.
