Bahrain’s Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Batelco, a Beyon company, at the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025. The agreement is focused on developing, evaluating, and implementing solutions to enhance digital infrastructure, including connectivity, voice communication, smart security, and digital signage.
Wael Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, emphasized that the MoU will foster cooperation in developing comprehensive digital infrastructure and improving coordination in communication and voice systems. He noted that Batelco’s expertise will play a vital role in upgrading the ministry’s connectivity and voice systems.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Under-Secretary of Municipal Affairs, highlighted that the agreement will focus on delivering technical expertise, innovative solutions, and recommendations to enhance communication systems. He praised Batelco’s commitment to supporting sustainable development and strengthening digital infrastructure.
Batelco’s CEO, Muna Al Hashemi, stated that the company aims to strengthen its cooperation with the Ministry, focusing on digital infrastructure and exploring new opportunities in related systems and technologies. Abdulla Danesh, Batelco’s Enterprise General Manager, added that Batelco would provide advanced digital solutions, including communication and voice services, to improve the ministry’s operations and the quality of municipal services, along with offering technical support and smart city infrastructure solutions.
