The Global Data & AI Virtual Tech Conference 2025 began on Tuesday in Amman, organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. The event focuses on empowering education through AI, expanding AI innovation within institutions, and enhancing the public sector’s adoption of AI technologies to drive digital transformation in Jordan.
In her opening remarks, Ministry Secretary-General Samira Zoubi emphasized the conference’s role in fostering dialogue and exchanging expertise on using AI and data to benefit humanity. She acknowledged the global technological revolution, particularly in AI and big data, which is reshaping economies, governments, and service delivery systems.
Zoubi highlighted Jordan’s commitment to investing in knowledge and technology, aiming to build a robust digital economy, more efficient government services, and meet citizens’ evolving needs. She referenced the launch of the National Artificial Intelligence Policy in 2020 and the National Strategy for 2023–2027, which outlines 68 projects in various sectors such as education, health, agriculture, and smart cities.
The government has focused on developing digital infrastructure, expanding cloud computing, and updating legislation to create a safe, reliable environment for innovation. Additionally, efforts to build human capacity through training programs for public sector employees, youth, and entrepreneurs are ongoing in collaboration with local and international partners.
