Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality Launches 17 New Agricultural Services on ‘Oun’ App

Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality, in collaboration with the Agricultural Affairs Department, has launched 17 new agricultural services on the ‘Oun’ app as part of its ongoing digital transformation project. The initiative aims to streamline procedures, enhance service efficiency, and accelerate processing through a fully integrated digital approach.

The new services include various permits for importing agricultural materials, such as fertilisers, honeybees, trees and seedlings, fruits, vegetables, and natural green fodder. Other services include permits for pesticides, cut flowers, palm trees, restricted-use fertilisers, and agricultural inspections, as well as requests for productivity certificates, marketing certificates, and agricultural worker approvals.

As part of the broader digital transformation efforts, the Ministry is providing a wide array of electronic services via the Oun app and its website. These services cover municipal tasks like tree pruning, sewage removal, solid waste disposal, advertisement licensing, and building permits, among others.

The Ministry is developing 400 services under this project, which started in 2023. The goal is to provide smart, automated, and AI-driven services to the public and businesses. This digital initiative also facilitates data sharing between government institutions, reducing the need for applicants to repeatedly upload documents and certificates.

By improving service procedures and utilizing modern technologies, the Ministry is working towards creating a smart city, enhancing both the quality and efficiency of its services across various sectors including agriculture, food security, urban development, and community services.
