Jordan’s Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smeirat, and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, held discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation in digital innovation, advanced technologies, and the aviation industry during an official visit to Jordan. The visit aimed to explore potential partnership opportunities between the two countries in these sectors.
The Kazakh delegation, which included key officials and industry representatives, engaged with several prominent Jordanian institutions and companies, gaining insights into Jordan’s achievements in innovation, digital transformation, and defense industries. The delegation’s visit began with a tour of “Deep Element,” a Jordanian company specializing in airspace management security solutions, where they were presented with innovations in the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry.
The delegation also visited the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), where they learned about the bureau’s role in developing defense industries and fostering industrial innovation. Discussions at the JODDB focused on knowledge transfer, experience exchange, and potential collaborations in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and space technologies.
At the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the delegation met with the National Information Technology Center and members of the Information and Communications Technology Association (int@j). The talks centered on enhancing collaboration between technology companies in both nations, as well as sharing expertise in entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and creating a favorable environment for innovation-focused investments.
Both ministers expressed their shared commitment to deepening technological and innovative cooperation, aiming to contribute to economic growth and the development of a competitive digital economy in both Jordan and Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh delegation will continue its meetings with government, academic, and private sector institutions as part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in digital innovation and the aviation industries, supporting comprehensive development in both nations.
