Huawei’s Digital Morocco Summit in Marrakech brought together over 200 leaders to discuss AI and digital transformation under the theme “Amplify Intelligence: Shaping the Future with Digital Morocco 2030.” The summit featured key speakers from government, industry, and academia, addressing AI’s impact on various sectors in Morocco’s digital future.
Maroc Telecom reported a 5.9% profit drop in Q1, driven by declining revenue in Morocco, while its African subsidiaries saw growth. The company also announced a partnership with Inwi to roll out a 5G network in Morocco with a joint investment of 4.4 billion dirhams over three years.
Morocco will launch 5G mobile technology in November, ahead of the African Cup of Nations. The government aims to provide 5G access to 25% of the population by 2025, expanding to 70% by 2030. The deployment will prioritize urban centers, economic zones, and industries, enhancing connectivity across key sectors.
