Khazna Data Centres to Build AI-Ready Data Centre in Turkey

Khazna Data Centres, a key player in digital infrastructure and part of the UAE-based G42 technology group focused on AI, has revealed plans to construct an AI-capable data centre in Turkey. The facility, located in the Başkent Organized Industrial Zone in Ankara, will have a potential capacity of up to 100MW.

Designed to accommodate a wide range of workloads, including AI, cloud, and other critical applications, the data centre will initially focus on cloud infrastructure in its first phase. However, its modular design allows for future expansion, ensuring flexibility to meet the changing demands of technology and support future innovations.

In line with Khazna’s commitment to operational efficiency, the Ankara facility will incorporate cutting-edge features to boost energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact. These include the use of low global warming potential refrigerants, solar photovoltaic panels, and low-carbon recycled materials. The data centre will also utilize solar water heating systems and high-efficiency adiabatic chillers, maximizing free cooling where possible. Additionally, it will feature wastewater reuse systems and generators that can run on hydrotreated vegetable oil fuel, significantly reducing the facility’s carbon footprint.

Khazna plans to appoint a general contractor by Q2 2025 and, following the completion of this project, will continue expanding its presence in Turkey, further developing its data centre network.
