Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s leading connectivity provider and largest foreign direct investor under the Board of Investment (BOI), announced a $100 million investment to boost the nation’s digital infrastructure. This brings Dialog’s cumulative investment to over $3.37 billion, reinforcing its dedication to inclusive connectivity, superior service, and advancing Sri Lanka’s digital future.
The investment includes $81 million by Dialog Axiata PLC (DAP) and $19 million by Dialog Broadband Networks (DBN), formalized through two Supplementary Agreements signed with the BOI. Funds will enhance mobile and fixed networks, accelerate next-generation technology adoption, and expand digital platforms vital to Sri Lanka’s connectivity ecosystem.
The agreements were signed by Dialog leadership including Chairman David Lau and CEO Supun Weerasinghe, alongside BOI Chairman Arjuna Herath and other officials.
Vivek Sood, Group CEO of Axiata Group Berhad, stated the investment underscores confidence in Sri Lanka’s growth and highlighted the importance of upcoming commercial 5G spectrum allocation. David Lau emphasized Dialog’s commitment to supporting economic growth and improving lives, while Supun Weerasinghe reaffirmed Dialog’s focus on empowering individuals and communities through future-ready infrastructure.
