On May 19, 2025, Ericsson showcased its cutting-edge technological innovations and explored avenues for strengthened collaboration within the ICT ecosystem at the Egypt 5G Forum in Cairo. Organized by Moharram & Partners in partnership with the Embassies of Finland, Japan, Sweden, the United States, and the European Union Delegation to Egypt, the forum gathered a wide range of stakeholders unified by a shared vision for regional digital transformation.
The high-profile event attracted top executives from Egypt’s telecom sector, government officials, and leading communication service providers. The one-day program featured five panel discussions addressing critical aspects of 5G technology, with Ericsson experts playing a central role.
Robert Condon, Head of Government & Policy Advocacy for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Ericsson, outlined regulatory challenges and opportunities for 5G deployment in Egypt. He emphasized 5G’s potential to drive economic growth, foster an investment-friendly regulatory environment, and establish trusted networks. Said Zantout, Head of Core Networks and Network Management at Ericsson Middle East and Africa, discussed 5G’s transformative impact, focusing on AI, APIs, and the technology’s ability to meet diverse industry demands. Meanwhile, Zoran Lazarević, Chief Technology Officer at Ericsson Middle East and Africa, highlighted future-ready solutions that enable service providers to transition smoothly to open programmable networks and seize emerging opportunities in Egypt.
