Girls in ICT Conference Highlights Need for Equal Digital Access and Education

Stakeholders at the Girls in ICT Conference emphasized the critical importance of ensuring equal access for girls and women in the fast-evolving field of information and communication technology (ICT).

Co-hosted by the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the event underscored the necessity of inclusive technological progress.

Radhika Aryal, Secretary at Nepal’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, affirmed the government’s commitment to improving digital access for women and girls. Meanwhile, NTA Chairman Upendra Bhandari urged the introduction of ICT education in schools to empower girls from an early age and bridge the digital gender divide.
