Qatar has secured the top spot worldwide on Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index for mobile broadband speeds in April 2025, reinforcing its position as a global leader in fast and reliable mobile connectivity. According to the index, Qatar boasts an exceptional median mobile download speed of 521.52 Mbps and an upload speed of 34.09 Mbps—figures unmatched by any other country.
Sheikh Hamad Abdulla al-Thani, CEO of Vodafone Qatar, expressed pride in this achievement, attributing it to Qatar’s unwavering commitment to expanding its digital infrastructure. “Qatar continues to set the benchmark for outstanding internet connectivity speeds. This milestone reflects the nation’s relentless drive to expand infrastructure, with 5G network development at the heart of its digital agenda, a core aspect of Qatar’s National Vision 2030,” he said.
