Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi held a meeting with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Lt. Gen. Ashraf Salem Zaher, Director of the Egyptian Military Academy, to review final preparations for the “Digilians” initiative. This flagship national programme aims to build digital capabilities among Egyptian youth and is slated for official launch in September 2025.
The initiative will be inclusive, open to young Egyptians from all academic and professional backgrounds, with merit-based admissions. It offers fully funded educational tracks—ranging from intensive diplomas to master’s degrees—alongside free accommodation and training. The curriculum integrates technical skills with personal development, including language, leadership, and freelancing competencies.
A key feature of “Digilians” is collaboration with leading tech companies for hands-on training and mentorship. Participants will also be encouraged to develop and pitch tech-based business projects, with support to enter the global freelancing market, further contributing to Egypt’s digital transformation.
President Al-Sisi emphasized the importance of adhering to the project timeline, expanding reach, and partnering with specialized science and technology institutions both locally and internationally. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to advancing its national digital agenda and strengthening ICT infrastructure to support economic growth and innovation.
