Jordan Releases National Report on Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2024-2025 Highlighting Significant Progress

AMMAN — The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship unveiled the Jordan National Report on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2024-2025, developed in partnership with the German Jordanian University (GJU) and the Jordan Strategy Forum. The report demonstrates remarkable progress in key entrepreneurship indicators across the Kingdom.

Minister Sami Smeirat emphasized that accurate data is foundational for effective policymaking and reflects the government’s strong commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial environment. GJU President Alaadeen Halhouli noted that survey research provides valuable insights to better direct entrepreneurship programs.

Jordan ranked second among seven Arab countries in early-stage entrepreneurial activity and showed a significant reduction in the gender gap from 9.2% to 3%. The Kingdom also placed second in the Existing Business Ownership Index, signaling the sustainability of entrepreneurial ventures. The report highlights improvements in market dynamics, government policies, support programs, and market entry regulations.

Additionally, the Ministry, GJU, and the Jordan Strategy Forum signed an agreement to strengthen research capabilities and ensure ongoing participation in future GEM reports.
