Matarat Holding and Thales Partner to Modernize Saudi Arabia’s Airports with Smart Technologies

Matarat Holding, managing operations for 27 Saudi airports, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global tech leader Thales to accelerate digital transformation across its airport network. The partnership, announced at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Madrid, aims to modernize airport operations and management through advanced digital platforms, AI, biometrics, automation, and data-driven systems.

This collaboration will enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and passenger experience, enabling seamless and secure journeys at Matarat’s subsidiaries including Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam airports. Thales will implement next-generation infrastructure and share best practices to elevate Saudi aviation standards.

Bernard Roux, Thales CEO for Saudi Arabia and Central Asia, highlighted that this alliance supports Saudi Vision 2030 by co-creating a smart, safe aviation ecosystem focused on AI, cybersecurity, and connected systems, setting new benchmarks in national security and passenger service.
