Jumia, Africa’s leading e-commerce platform, has introduced a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service in Algeria via a strategic partnership with local finance provider Diar Dzair. This payment solution allows customers to split their purchases into installments, enhancing online shopping accessibility and promoting digital financial services adoption.
Liès-Paul Mollard, CEO of Jumia Algeria, highlighted that BNPL aims to create a more inclusive e-commerce environment and boost Algeria’s digital economy. The initiative aligns with global trends to increase customer purchasing power through flexible payment methods.
The BNPL service is expected to drive Jumia’s growth in Algeria by expanding its customer base and sales, while addressing barriers such as limited payment options and cash-dominated retail habits. This move strengthens Jumia’s financial services ecosystem and supports wider digital payment adoption in the Algerian market.
