Jumia, Africa’s leading e-commerce platform, has partnered with Algerian finance provider Diar Dzair to introduce a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service in Algeria. This initiative aims to make online shopping more accessible by allowing customers to split payments, thereby fostering digital financial service adoption in the region.
Liès-Paul Mollard, CEO of Jumia Algeria, highlighted that the BNPL service is designed to create a more inclusive e-commerce environment and drive digital economy growth. The integration supports Jumia’s strategy to enhance customer purchasing power through innovative payment solutions aligned with global e-commerce trends.
The BNPL service is expected to boost Jumia’s growth in Algeria by expanding its sales and customer base through flexible payment options. This move addresses key barriers such as limited payment methods and purchasing power constraints in Algeria’s predominantly cash-based retail market.
By expanding its financial services ecosystem, Jumia aims to accelerate the adoption of digital payments in Algeria, making e-commerce more accessible and convenient for customers across the country.
