Saudi Arabia’s tourism authority announced the resumption of e-visa applications starting June 10, making it easier for travelers from eligible countries to apply online and plan visits this summer. Those holding valid Schengen, UK, or US visit visas—or residents of the EU, UK, or US—are also eligible for visa-on-arrival at Saudi entry points.
As the summer unfolds, Saudi Arabia offers a vibrant mix of cultural festivals, coastal retreats, and major international events like the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. Visitors can explore ancient heritage sites, enjoy mountain escapes, or engage in world-class entertainment, marking this as an exciting time to visit.
In parallel, Saudi authorities resumed issuing Umrah visas on June 10, following the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage season. Over 1.6 million Muslims from more than 150 countries performed Hajj in Makkah, concluding with the “farewell tawaf” around the Kaaba. Restrictions on entering Makkah during Hajj were lifted starting June 11.
Earlier in April 2025, travelers faced visa issuance challenges ahead of Hajj, with suspensions affecting multiple visa categories including multi-entry, single-entry, Umrah, and family visit visas. Umrah pilgrims’ last permitted entry was on April 13, as authorities prepared for the pilgrimage season.
With e-visa and Umrah visa services now operational again, Saudi Arabia is welcoming tourists and pilgrims as it gears up for a busy travel season.
