Maroc Telecom Adopts Unified Governance Model, Mohamed Benchaâboun Confirmed as CEO

Maroc Telecom has officially transitioned to a streamlined governance structure, replacing its previous dual framework of a Supervisory Board and Executive Board with a single Board of Directors. This change, approved during the Extraordinary General Assembly on June 18, 2025, aims to enhance decision-making efficiency and support the company’s strategic growth initiatives.

All former members of the Supervisory Board have been retained as part of the unified board, ensuring leadership continuity and a smooth transition in strategic oversight. Mohamed Benchaâboun, previously Chairman of the Executive Board, has been confirmed as CEO amid the company’s ongoing digital expansion and innovation across Morocco and its African subsidiaries.

Benchaâboun assumed leadership earlier this year, succeeding Abdeslam Ahizoune after his 27-year tenure. His appointment, supported by Finance Minister Nadia Fettah and the Supervisory Board, extends until March 1, 2027, positioning Maroc Telecom for continued transformation and growth.
