The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), led by Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, held a high-level bilateral meeting with the Global Digital Inclusion Partnership (GDIP) during the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2025. The meeting, attended by GDIP Executive Director Onica N. Makwakwa, built on a previously signed Letter of Cooperation between the two organizations.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to promoting inclusive digital ecosystems with a focus on gender-responsive policies and equitable access to technology. PTA updated GDIP on initiatives such as the Gender Digital Divide program and preparations for the upcoming Subsea Cables Workshop.
The discussion highlighted opportunities for deeper collaboration under the Gender Inclusion Strategy, identifying new areas to advance connectivity and digital empowerment. PTA emphasized its dedication to sustainable digital transformation through impactful international partnerships.
