Two Algerian tech entrepreneurs, Tarik Metnani and Louai Djaffer, have developed Talenteo, a SaaS platform designed to simplify human resource management for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Algeria. Launched in 2022 and based in Algiers, Talenteo offers comprehensive tools to manage the entire HR cycle — including payroll, onboarding, leave management, absences, and regulatory compliance — tailored to local business needs.
In June, Talenteo secured an undisclosed six-figure investment from Tunisia-based 216 Capital, which will accelerate its growth in Algeria and support preparations for expansion into the wider North African region. The founders plan to enter the Tunisian market first before targeting other Francophone African countries.
Co-founder Louai Djaffer emphasized the platform’s mission: “We believe that a company’s success relies on investing in human resources. Talenteo was created to help African companies digitize their HR processes to support their growth and impact.”
Talenteo differentiates itself from foreign HR solutions by offering a localized approach that respects African regulatory frameworks and linguistic requirements. The platform is primarily aimed at businesses with fewer than 250 employees, the backbone of Algeria’s and Francophone Africa’s economy.
Key features include adherence to Algerian payslip compliance laws and customized dashboards, providing SMEs with an integrated system that reduces paperwork, enhances transparency, and professionalizes talent management.
