AMMAN — The Ministry of Government Communications hosted a media briefing highlighting the strategic vision and future plans of Jordan’s Institute of Public Administration (IPA) under the theme “The Institute and Administrative Modernisation: Strategies and Future Plans.”
IPA Director General Siham Khawaldeh emphasized the institute’s pivotal role in advancing national goals by improving public sector human resource performance and positioning the IPA as a leading centre for innovative, responsive training services.
As one of the oldest public administration institutes in the Arab region, the IPA has a long-standing focus on training and capacity building for public sector employees. Recent legal reforms have restructured the institute’s governance: the former steering committee was replaced by a new Board of Trustees chaired by the Minister of State for Public Sector Modernisation or a designated minister. This board now holds full authority to approve and implement institutional policies.
The IPA has also revamped its internal organisation, creating new directorates and customizing training programmes to better align with sector needs. Currently, the institute trains approximately 20,000 individuals annually via in-person, online, and self-paced formats.
A newly developed digital training platform is currently in pilot phase and is scheduled for official launch next year. This platform aims to increase accessibility and reduce operational costs, further modernising public sector training in Jordan.
