Kuwait Launches New E-Visa System to Boost Tourism, Trade, and Investment

Kuwait has introduced a new electronic visa (e-visa) system designed to simplify and speed up entry procedures for tourists, families, business travelers, and official delegations. This platform marks a key milestone in Kuwait’s efforts to position itself as a regional hub for tourism, trade, investment, and international cooperation.

The e-visa platform offers four visa types: tourist (valid up to 90 days), family visit (30 days), business (30 days), and official visas for government delegations. All applications can now be completed online, reducing paperwork and processing times.

The tourist visa encourages visits to Kuwait’s cultural and scenic attractions, while the family visa facilitates easier reunification for residents and their relatives. Business visas support foreign company representatives attending meetings and conferences. The official visa caters to diplomatic and government missions.

Officials noted that this launch aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s broader digital transformation goals, enhancing Kuwait’s global accessibility. The country also anticipates benefiting from the upcoming GCC Grand Tours Visa, which will allow travel across six Gulf Cooperation Council countries, further supporting regional tourism integration.
