Morocco has initiated a call for competition to award licenses for establishing and operating 5th generation (5G) mobile telecommunications networks. This step aligns with the country’s Maroc Digital 2030 strategy and sectoral guidelines, aiming to equip the Kingdom with cutting-edge mobile technologies to drive economic and social progress.
The 5G technology offers high transmission speeds, ultra-low latency for real-time applications, and the capacity to address specific needs in key sectors such as industry, transport, healthcare, and agriculture.
The competition dossier outlines the regulatory framework, technical and financial conditions for 5G network deployment, commercial service provision terms, coverage and quality of service obligations for license holders, and procedures for bid evaluation. A public report will be issued detailing the evaluation outcomes.
Interested parties can obtain the competition dossier from the National Agency of Regulatory Telecommunications (ANRT) by fax at +212 537 203862 or via email at aa****@**rt.ma.
Following the selection of license winners, the Terms of Reference will be formally adopted by decree and published in the Official Bulletin.
