Saudi Tech Delegation Visits UK to Explore AI, Satellite Communications, and Deep Tech Partnerships

A delegation from Saudi Arabia’s technology, innovation, and space sector, led by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha, conducted a series of official visits to leading British companies and research centers specializing in deep tech and satellite communications as part of their UK engagements.

The tour commenced at Wayve, an AI-driven autonomous driving firm, where the delegation explored next-generation smart mobility solutions (AV2.0). They also visited Automata Technologies, known for robotic laboratory automation, to learn about its LINQ platform that uses AI to accelerate research and diagnostics, fostering potential collaboration in digital healthcare and bio-research.

To promote tech entrepreneurship, the delegation engaged with Catapult company leaders, discussing partnerships aimed at supporting startups and advancing deep technology adoption.

Further discussions took place with OneWeb, a provider of broadband via Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, focusing on high-speed connectivity projects for vital sectors and potential collaborations to develop advanced communication solutions supporting innovation in transportation, energy, industry, and education.

These engagements support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals to localize emerging technologies and establish the Kingdom as a global innovation hub.
