An Iraqi government committee responsible for activating Apple Pay services has held an online meeting with Apple’s regional managers to discuss the technical and administrative requirements for launching Apple Pay in Iraq. The meeting, reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), is part of Iraq’s broader strategy to improve electronic payment infrastructure, promote financial inclusion, and accelerate digital transformation.
The discussions covered the integration of Apple Pay with Iraq’s national electronic payment system, addressing key technical and operational concerns. A follow-up meeting is planned within two weeks to finalize arrangements, aiming to make Apple Pay accessible to Iraqi users and further develop the country’s digital economy.
