Riyadh – The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, in collaboration with the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities, has launched Qari’e, a digital platform designed to provide individuals with visual impairments access to books.
This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader cultural and intellectual inclusion efforts, ensuring equitable access to knowledge. It also reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to the Marrakesh Treaty, which facilitates access to published works for people with visual disabilities.
Qari’e features assistive technologies such as screen reader support and text magnifiers to enhance usability. The platform offers high-quality content in multiple languages, comprehensive technical support, and free subscriptions to local and international digital libraries.
This effort aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s goal to foster an integrated, knowledge-based society.
