The Al-Jawf branch of Yemen’s General Telecommunications Corporation has commenced work on multiple telecommunications projects in the Maton District.
At the inauguration, Eng. Abdullah Thawabah, Director of the branch, announced the activation of a Yemen Mobile telecommunications station established earlier this year in Ma’imira and Muthallath Bin Shihab areas. This station expands coverage across Maton, Zaher, and Matammah districts, enhancing communications for local residents.
Eng. Thawabah stated these projects are part of a broader set of initiatives implemented throughout Al-Jawf Governorate in 2025, including fiber-optic cable connections to stations. These efforts align with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology’s information security policy aimed at protecting Yemen’s telecom network from espionage and hacking.
He commended the local authorities and security agencies for their support in overcoming challenges to successfully implement and inaugurate these telecommunications projects.
