Morocco and French Firm Onepoint Launch AI and Data Center of Excellence to Boost Digital Growth

Morocco has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with French company Onepoint to establish a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Data in the Casablanca-Settat region. This partnership supports Morocco’s “Maroc Digital 2030” strategy, aiming to train 45,000 tech professionals by 2030 and create 500 skilled jobs in AI, big data, and middleware over the next four years.

The agreement, endorsed by key ministries and the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), seeks to modernize public services, accelerate digital transformation of industrial SMEs, and reinforce national technological sovereignty. It positions Morocco as a regional digital leader and a growing hub in Africa’s tech economy.

This initiative complements similar recent investments by Oracle, which plans a Casablanca AI and cybersecurity research center creating 1,000 jobs, along with partnerships with Naver, Nokia, and Cisco. Industry and Commerce Minister Ryad Mezzour highlighted Morocco’s increasing appeal to global tech firms and the opportunity for Moroccan engineers to engage in international projects while delivering local impact.
