Bahrain Space Agency CEO Participates in Lunar Exploration Symposium with Intuitive Machines

Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), took part in the specialised symposium “The Future of Space Exploration and Lunar Technologies,” organised by Intuitive Machines and supported by Advanced Space.

The event followed Intuitive Machines’ historic lunar landing of its “Odysseus” spacecraft in February—the first privately developed craft to successfully land on the Moon. Intuitive Machines is preparing its second mission and recently secured a $4.8 billion NASA contract to provide lunar communication and navigation services under the Artemis programme.

Dr. Al Aseeri highlighted the symposium’s importance, featuring keynote speaker Steve Altemus, Co-Founder and CEO of Intuitive Machines and former NASA Johnson Space Centre Director. He stressed the growing role of commercial companies in lunar exploration alongside government agencies.

Bahrain’s commitment to the Artemis Accords and strengthening international space partnerships aligns with its Vision 2030 strategic goals.

The symposium covered key themes including future lunar exploration technologies, private sector contributions, challenges in lunar infrastructure, and Artemis programme collaboration.

BSA’s participation advances its mission to foster global cooperation, track lunar technology progress, and develop Bahrain’s space ambitions.
