Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Launches “Trusted Identity” Campaign to Promote Omani Digital Identity

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Oman has launched the “Trusted Identity” campaign to raise awareness about the Omani domain (.om) and strengthen the country’s digital identity. This initiative highlights the significance of the national domain as an official symbol that reflects Oman’s identity and boosts its digital presence globally.

The campaign emphasizes the national and professional aspects of the Omani domain, including its legal and regulatory benefits, close ties to corporate identity, and reputation for high reliability. It also showcases how the domain contributes to building a robust digital economy by creating business and operational value, thereby supporting the growth of Oman’s gross domestic product.

Citizens and institutions are able to obtain an Omani digital identity through officially accredited registration entities. TRA manages the Omani domain under a formal agreement with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) that has been in place since 2012.
