President Asif Ali Zardari Highlights Expansion of Trade and Cooperation with Oman

ISLAMABAD — President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed Pakistan’s strong interest in deepening bilateral trade and investment ties with Oman, focusing on sectors such as information technology, construction, health care, food security, and energy, according to state media.

In a meeting with Oman’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Fahad Sulaiman Khalaf Al Kharusi, Zardari emphasized that increased government-to-government engagement would foster stronger private-sector collaboration, boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.

Zardari urged enhanced interaction at leadership levels to further strengthen the longstanding cordial relationship between Pakistan and Oman.

Pakistan is actively working to deepen economic relations with Gulf nations, attracting significant foreign investment across key industries. Recent initiatives include invitations for Gulf investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s agriculture and mineral sectors, as well as participation in events like Arab Health 2025 to promote medical tourism and innovation.

The country has witnessed increased high-level visits and economic discussions with Gulf and Middle Eastern nations, signaling Islamabad’s intent to access new markets and build sustainable regional partnerships.
